Summer Creative Media Intern

Orange County, CA | Part-Time

Marika Creative is seeking to hire a Summer Creative Media Intern. The Creative Media Intern position is an exciting role that will allow the right candidate to develop their skills, learn about the business of being a creative, understand what it means to be a creative director, offer aid to Marika in different aspects of the business, and step in alongside our Marketing Intern to develop and execute successful campaigns and strategies.

Location: Orange County, CA

Pay: College Credit

Hours: Part-time, May 2021 - August 2021. 

As the Creative Media Intern, you will work with Marika behind the scenes to learn the business of photography and assist in different areas of the business, including:

  • Research

  • Community Management

  • Creating briefs and mood boards

  • Competitive analysis

  • Social media

  • Pre-production development

  • Support Marika by answering phones, taking detailed notes during meetings, inputting data into the computer and performing other tasks as required.

  • Run errands such as purchasing supplies, props, equipment, food and other necessary items for the project.

  • Collaborate with Marika on design elements in the business, including creating graphics, briefs, proposals, etc.

  • Collaborate with Marika on managing Creativity Built.


In this role, you will also learn how to source models, locations, props, etc., determine budgets, and by the end of our time together, you will be able to do the work of an entire production team all by yourself.

The Creative Media Intern role requires that you be eligible for and receive school credit.

You're the right candidate if your qualifications include:

  • Enrolled in accredited college or university with ability to receive credit

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, G Suite, and Adobe Pro CC

  • Proven problem-solving skills

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn as we go

  • Reliable

  • Flexible work schedule

  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation

  • Must have a reliable computer

  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms

  • Ability to multitask and take initiative

  • Hardworking and dedicated outlook

  • Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally

  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding multitasking abilities

  • Must have a passion for marketing

  • Working knowledge in Canva

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Working knowledge of social media channels

  • Strong organizational skills

Your work schedule will be part-time, from May 2021 - August 2021.

Your work schedule may be flexible, but should be consistent. We are expecting approximately 10 hours of work per week. While some of the work can be done remotely, you must be local to Orange County, CA to be available to assist on photoshoots, come to the office, etc.
