Summer Marketing Intern

Remote | Part-Time

Marika Creative is seeking to hire a Summer Marketing Intern. The Marketing Intern position is an exciting role that will allow the right candidate to develop their marketing skills across all platforms, learn about what it takes to successfully market a creative business, and step in alongside our Creative Media Intern to develop and execute successful campaigns and strategies.

Location: Remote and/or Orange County, CA

Pay: College Credit

Hours: Part-time, May 2021 - August 2021. 

As the Summer Marketing Intern, you will work with Marika to harness the power of social channels, email marketing, and other operations to develop and execute successful campaigns and strategies. This role will involve:

  • Research

  • Community Management

  • Competitive analysis

  • Work across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Clubhouse, and LinkedIn

  • Monitor all social media platforms for trending news, ideas, and feedback

  • Research and evaluate competitor marketing and digital content

  • Drip campaign development and email marketing support

  • Event organization for Marika Creative and Creativity Built.

  • Collaborate with Creative Media Intern on relevant projects.

  • Collaborate with Marika on design elements in the business, including creating graphics, briefs, proposals, etc.

  • Collaborate with Marika on managing Creativity Built.

In this role, you will also learn what it takes to successfully market creative businesses single-handedly.

The Marketing Intern role requires that you be eligible for and receive school credit.

You're the right candidate if your qualifications include:

  • Enrolled in accredited college or university with ability to receive credit

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, G Suite, and Adobe Pro CC

  • Proven problem-solving skills

  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn as we go

  • Reliable

  • Flexible work schedule

  • Must have a reliable mode of transportation

  • Must have a reliable computer

  • Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms

  • Ability to multitask and take initiative

  • Hardworking and dedicated outlook

  • Experience with content creation a plus, even if not professionally

  • Ability to take direction and absorb information quickly

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding multitasking abilities

  • Must have a passion for marketing

  • Working knowledge in Canva

  • Excellent verbal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

Your work schedule will be part-time, from May 2021 - August 2021.

Your work schedule may be flexible, but should be consistent. We are expecting approximately 10 hours of work per week. The majority of the your work can be done remotely. If you are local to Orange County, CA, then one day per week will be reserved to be in the office (day to be determined around the candidate’s schedule).

  • Campaign vision, story, and goal

  • Mood boards

  • Resources needed to make the campaign successful (photo, video, design, costumes, models, hair/makeup, location, props, copywriters, etc.)

  • Any other costs or expenses (food, travel, hotel, etc.)

  • Campaign budget, including the costs of the resources and expenses needed.

  • How the campaign will be distributed (social, print, web, ads, etc.)

  • What the anticipated results of the campaign are
